Watercolors

As most of you probably already know, one of my rules is that I am allowed to buy gifts for other people. But you know what’s even better than buying a gift for someone? Making it for them!

Now my intention is not to skimp on gifts in any way. What I’m saying is that it feels incredible to be able to create something that I’m proud enough to gift it to someone that I care about.

My best friend is going to have her first baby any day now. I bought her a gift from her baby registry because as a brand new momma, she’s going to need all of the baby things. However, I wanted to gift her baby girl something extra special and so I decided that I would create something for her.

While my main focus was photography for years, I dabbled in other forms of art and so I decided to paint her some small cacti pictures for the nursery. I enjoy using watercolors and I thought the softness of that medium would look great in her boho-themed baby room.

I’m hoping that one day in the future I’ll be able to craft something with my future little niece! I can’t wait to meet her!
